It has long been the practice of many county sheriffs to enter conceal carry permit holders into the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) criminal database. This practice, while allowed by state statute, is clearly a form of gun registry and violates some of our most basic and Constitutionally guaranteed rights.
HB07-1174 "We're coming for your guns now, and we'll be back for your Bible later" would codify this un-constitutional practice, and is expected to be heard on 2nd reading in the senate, some time this week.

Ironically, Jim Alderden, who heroically fought for statewide conceal carry permits was the first sheriff to input CCW holders into the CCIC database.
Mr. Lyman, can you please explain to us moderates the problem with putting CCW holders into the CCIC database? I'm a CCW holder and I have absolutely no problem with it, nor should anyone else.

I am not a violent criminal and am not a physical threat to the police. That list is to warn police officers and state troopers of potential trheats to thier own safety as well as the safety of the public at large.
As a responsible citizen, who obeyed the law in order to carry a weapon, why should I be placed in such company? You may not care, but as an American who values his reputation and standing in the community, I do. I am not a criminal just because I lawfully exercise my 2nd Ammendment right to keep and bear arms.
Every law abiding citizen SHOULD take offense at being slandered in such a way.

but to answer your question anyways...not that you want to hear it...CCW holders should not be put into the system...because than the local police think you are a threat to them so when they need to come see you...they send the damn SWAT team to put guns in your family's faces.
Like ummm Tom Shiflett for instance. Sheriff Vallario claimed that the use of a strike team was necessary because Tom Shiflett is a "self-proclaimed constitutionalist.”
Rio Blanco County Residents beware! Sheriff Si Woodruff has betrayed all the CCW permit holders in our county by entering our names into the CBI criminal database.
